SteamPower Camp Policies

Payment & General Refund Policy

  • Full tuition is due at the time of registration unless there is an installment plan being setup.
  • If you notify us 7 days before your camp’s starting date, you may receive a 75% credit on your account. After this period, there will be no credit issued.
  • There is no grace period for payment of tuition. Camp students with an outstanding balance will not be able to participate in any camp activities and parents will be called for pick-up.

 

Dropping Off & Picking Up

Parents, please be aware that your child must sign in and out of camp each day in provided sign-in sheet in the front lobby. This is for their safety. If a camper is picked up but not signed out, we can only assume the child is still at the center. In order to be mindful and respectful of everyone’s time, including instructors and coaches, prompt pick-up after camp is strongly encouraged. A $15 late pick-up fee will be added to your account for every 15 minutes a parent is late.

 

Emergency Contacts & Special Needs

Students cannot participate without a fully processed enrollment application with current emergency contacts. This includes parent, grandparent, guardian/caregiver information. It is important that we be aware of any special issues or challenges your child may face so we can create a successful and rewarding experience for your child. Please inform us of any medical conditions, disabilities or behavioral challenges your child may face prior to the first day of camp. In the case of an emergency, lockdown or natural disaster, immediate communication via text/email will be sent to the parent. We follow three levels of emergency protocol that are visibly posted throughout the center.

 

Absence And Illness

We expect all students to be in camp on time every day. However, if things out of your control happen please let us know as soon as possible by emailing [email protected]. There is no make up session/credit for the missing days.

 

Code Of Conduct

We at SteamPower value each and every individual. In order to create an environment where each student has the freedom to grow both as a student and as an individual, SteamPower has zero tolerance to the following:

  • Bullying – This includes fighting with another student, staff, volunteer, or parent
  • Destruction or theft of any property or materials
  • Disrespect towards oneself or others
  • Use of inappropriate language and/or innuendo, put downs, or name-calling

Students will also be expected to abide by the 3 Strikes Policy. The policy is posted in every classroom and common area in the center to remind students of proper behavior. The 3 Strikes Policy is as follows:

 

Strike 1- Mild Consequences  (including a verbal reminder & warning)

Strike 2- Moderate Consequences (including time-off structured played/privileges)

Strike 3- Severe Consequences (including a parent meeting with the director and/or possible expulsion). You can also refer to the SteamPower Handbook online at http://steampoweronline.com for more guidelines.

 

Books

Books borrowed from the SteamPower library should be checked in & out on a daily basis. Students are required to use the log sheet to check the book in and out. Any books not checked back in at the end of the day become the responsibility of your child. Book fees will be applied for any non-returned books.

Lost And Found

All items left at camp will be taken to the designated lost and found area daily. You are welcome to come to SteamPower at drop off or pick up time  to look through our lost and found collection.

 

Food At Camp

You can order lunch for your child while he/she is at camp by filling out and submitting the lunch order sheet provided to you. You can also pack a lunch, and must pack a labeled water bottle daily. In the case that a water bottle is not packed, a .25 fee will be charged to your account. In the case that you do not pre-order a lunch for your child using the form or forget to pack a lunch, we will pick up a lunch for your child for a fee. The lunch fee will be $ 7.00 + a $ 5.00 convenience fee added to your account balance.

SteamPower encourages open communication between instructors, administration and families. Please feel free to reach the instructors via email or in person. We will also be sending our surveys weekly, and feedback/updates on your child mid-week via email. Please be aware that we also send out alerts regarding emergencies or last minute changes via email blast and/or mobile text message.
